Hello old friends!

Don't take that too personally now that "old" might be beginning to sting a little!

I went searching the Web to see what Gospel Outreach stuff I could find. Most of what I found was at Verbo.org. But I was in search for MORE!

So I have scanned some of our old photos for this website. There are now photos from many of you on here too. If you have a testimony or any old GO photos, just email me. Send the pics as .jpgs.

This photo was taken July 18, 2008 at Justin and Emily's wedding in Pensacola, FL. Jessica, 23, graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN this year and is planning on moving to S.Cal to find work in video editing in Hollywood.

Justin and Emily are living and working in Pensacola, FL.

Chris and I will be celebrating our 35th anniversary

this coming Feb. 2009. We are still busy with our leather

furniture repair business in Horsham, PA.

Gospel Outreach was part of the Jesus Movement in northern California in the early 1970's. Jim Durkin, pastor of Deliverance Temple in Eureka, CA opened his church doors to the hippies that came. I found Jesus Christ as my Savior on August 5, 1972 at Deliverance Temple in Eureka, California. I joined hundreds of new Christians who found Jesus through Gospel Outreach while hitch hiking across the country. I moved to the Lighthouse Ranch on Table Bluff, outside of Eureka and learned about what it means to be a follower of Jesus. I met my husband Chris while working at the Donut Shop. We went "into all the world" January 1975 and moved to join the New York GO, then started a GO in Philly in 1977. I hope you enjoy seeing the work of the Lord through our photos, and photos of others, taken during that time. And if you haven't met Jesus, I hope you can see through these photos how He changes lives. Joan

For those who found this website and do not know, the founder of Gospel Outreach, Jim Durkin, joined the Lord in glory on January 12, 1996. The Gospel Outreach churches that remain in Eureka, CA, Vancouver, WA, Olympia, WA, Portland, OR, Wickenburg, AZ and New Jersey have become Gospel Outreach Reformational Church. The Lighthouse Ranch is no longer a Christian commune. According to http://www.centexhomesnorcal.com/pledge_to_conservation.html and http://www.lighthousefriends.com:80/light.asp?ID=62 a visitor’s center will be built on the five-acre site that was previously the Lighthouse Ranch and has been purchased by the Wildlife Conservation Board and Coastal Conservancy to create Table Bluff Ecological Preserve overlooking the Eel River Delta, Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Musicians: Francis Anfuso (guitar), Bruce Kimmel (marimbas), and Doug Ashby (guitar and banjo).

Vocals were done by Francis Anfuso, Mark Russell, Cheryl Edwards, and Bonnie Hastey (with Doug Ashby joining them for "Have Mercy upon Us").

Where Gospel Outreach began was with Pastor Jim Durkin and his wife Dacie at the church building at 123 W. Cedar Street , Eureka, CA.

There is still a Gospel Outreach Church in Eureka though it is now called Gospel Outreach Reformational Church.

The congregation has a different focus than when Gospel Outreach began in the early 1970's.

The new building will be dedicated on September 26, 2009.
